Current online Policy Service users KSBA now offers a more convenient way to make your district’s policies and procedures accessible to students, staff, and community members. The Policy & Procedure Services can put your District’s policies and procedures online in a fully searchable, easy-to-use format that can be viewed from any computer with Internet access. Advantages of Going Online Accurate and current. Posting your policies and/or procedures online gives your staff another tool for keeping abreast of their responsibilities. Online manuals can be updated in a matter of hours rather than days. Convenient and accessible. District leadership documents are available at all times to staff, Board members, media, and the general public. Secure and reliable. Your District’s policies and/or procedures will be stored on the KSBA server and then linked with your Web site. OR Your policies and/or procedures will be accessible through the KSBA Web site with password security, if requested. Only when you notify your Consultant of a policy amendment or procedure revision will that document be updated and added to your online manual(s). Benefits. Benefits include full search capabilities, links to statutes and regulations, and the need for fewer hard copies. Benefits are covered in more detail below. Affordable. Pricing information available upon request. Benefits of Going Online Full search feature. Users will be able to search an entire online manual by word or phrase without having to know the policy or procedure code. Printable documents or manuals. Policies and procedures can be printed with a click of the mouse. Output is a facsimile of the hard copy documents in your manual binders. Links to educational resources. Links are provided to relevant (cross-referenced) education statutes (KRS), administrative regulations (KAR), opinions of the Attorney General (OAG), and open records decisions (ORD). [Note: Generally, only 1995 or later OAGs are available online.] Reduction in number of hard copies. Putting documents online will reduce: (1) the number of hard copies needed, (2) staff work load associated with changing out pages in manuals, and (3) the costs of printing and mailing. No additional hardware, software, or licenses.
