The Kentucky School Boards Association KSBA Strategic Objectives Every public school board will govern effectively and with integrity. Every public school board member will understand and emphasize student achievement. Every public school board will practice good stewardship of resources. As these objectives suggest, the Kentucky School Boards Association provides advocacy, consultation, information, professional development and district support services for local school board members as well as district and school staff. Established in 1936, KSBA is a private, nonprofit service organization composed of almost 900 members of local boards of education. As such, KSBA is the largest organization of elected officials in Kentucky. A board of directors of 27 local school board members provide the association's direction. The board consists of:
