Children's Advocacy Day at the Capitol set for Feb. 8 KSBA has joined other organizations to sponsor Children's Advocacy Day in Frankfort on Thursday, Feb. 8. School board members, superintendents and other advocates for children and public schools are invited to travel to Frankfort and engage your representatives and senators on important legislation that will be considered by the 2007 General Assembly. KSBA Governmental Relations staff invite members to gather in the Capital Rotunda beginning at 9 a.m. Activities are schedule to continue through 2:30 p.m. Children’s Advocacy Day at the Capitol provides an opportunity for those interested in children’s issues to gather and show our legislators that Kentucky cares about its children. This day serves as a great opportunity to rally for children’s issues at the Capitol rotunda and gather information on children’s issues likely to come up during the next session. Schedule time to speak with your legislators and meet with people from across the state that share your commitment to children. Encourage your friends and colleagues to attend this worthwhile event, and to add their voice to the concert of care which will be expressed at our state capital. All of the details of the event, as well as registration, can easily be found at the following link: http://www.kyyouth.org/Advocacy/Policy_Advocacy/Children's_Advocacy_Day/ # # # |
