KSBA honoring 34 districts for sustained progress on CATS test During October and early November, KSBA staff are traveling the state to present special recognition to the 34 school systems that have the highest improvement in their district CATS indexes for the last two biennial cycles: 2003-2004 through 2005-2006. This marks the fifth time KSBA has marked districtwide CATS improvement over time, as opposed to all of the attention given to scores each year on the state assessment test, usually on a school-by-school basis. This year, KSBA is honoring the Top 20 percent of the 175 districts. Their scores have increased between 6.1 and 10.6 points over the past four years. KSBA staff will make or have already made presentations of engraved plaques denoting the recognition for the school boards, district staff, teachers and students in the following districts: Augusta Independent McCreary County Cloverport Independent Corbin Independent Clay County Hart County Carroll County Owsley County Ballard County East Bernstadt Independent Pikeville Independent Pike County Bellevue Independent Hancock County Logan County Simpson County Fulton Independent Breathitt County Pulaski County Carter County Jackson Independent Webster County Harlan County Washington County Graves County Jenkins Independent Bell County Green County Johnson County Metcalfe County Whitley County Bowling Green Independent Floyd County Greenup County McLean County KSBA congratulates all Kentucky districts for their efforts to reach proficiency by 2014 and ensure all Kentucky public school students have the best possible learning opportunities. # # # |
