2007-09 KSBA regional chairperson elections under way Congratulations to Carol Stumbo of the Floyd County Board of Education and Kelly F. Fulmer of Walton-Verona Independent on their elections to the post of regional chairperson to the KSBA Board of Directors. Six of the 12 regional chairperson positions are up for election during this year's fall regional meetings. Stumbo is the new regional representative for the Eastern Kentucky South region. A graduate of Berea College and Eastern Kentucky University, she is an educator in her eighth year on the Floyd County school board. Stumbo will represent the Floyd, Johnson, Magoffin, Martin and Pike county boards and the Paintsville and Pikeville independent boards for the next two years. She replaces Pikeville Independent board member Ann Carty on the KSBA board. Fulmer will represent the Northern Kentucky region on the KSBA board for 2007 and 2008. A graduate of Thomas More College, Northern Kentucky University and the University of Michigan School of Law, he is an attorney and CEO of AQW Inc., a defense contracting firm. Fulmer, a member of the Walton-Verona Independent board since 2001, will represent the following school boards: Augusta, Beechwood, Bellevue, Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Covington, Dayton, Erlanger-Elsmere, Fort Thomas, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Ludlow, Newport, Owen, Pendleton, Silver Grove, Southgate, Walton-Verona and Williamstown. He replaces Truman Ellis of Erlanger-Elsmere on the KSBA board. You will learn more about Stumbo and Fulmer in the November edition of the Kentucky School Advocate. The magazine will profile all six of the new regional chairpersons in November and December following their elections. All of the new regional chairpersons will begin their service with the November strategic planning retreat of the KSBA board. # # # |
