Kentucky Teacher of the Year to close KSBA Annual Conference as Sunday brunch keynote speaker

Susanne Burkhardt, Kentucky's 2007 Teacher of the Year, has agreed to deliver the closing keynote address at the 71st KSBA Annual Conference on Sunday, Feb. 25.

A 15-year veteran educator in her third year at Shelby County's Simpsonville Elementary School, Burkhardt is national board certified as an early childhood generalist.  She earned her bachelor's degree at Wittenberg University and her master's degree at John Carroll University in Ohio.She is a member of the Kentucky chapter of the National Board of Professional Teaching (NBPT) and a recipient of Mayfield Excellence and Mayfield Outstanding awards and an Innovative Teaching Grant.

Conference information flyers listing all of the seminar subjects, additional speakers and other aspects of the KSBA Annual Conference will be sent to all board members and superintendents in early January.  Online registration for the conference at the Galt House Hotels and Conference Center in Louisville will be available at that same time.
