Can your district become the next Kentucky Magna Award winner?

NSBA's magazine, the American School Board Journal, is now accepting nominations for the prestigious 2007 Magna Awards for school board-supported projects to boost student achievement and encourage community engagement.  The nomination deadline is Oct. 2, 2006 and the awards will be presented at a banquet during the San Francisco NSBA conference next April.

Kentucky districts previously honored with the Magna Awards are Daviess County, Jefferson County, Lincoln County and Owensboro Independent.  As many as 24 districts nationwide may be chosen by this year's panel of judges.  Three overall winners are chosen from districts in classes based on student enrollment: fewer than 5,000; 5,000 - 20,000; and more than 20,000 students.
