Duty to Report

At the August meeting of the Green River Regional Education Cooperative, staff of the Education Professional Standards Board passed out the following note, which we share for your information:

In accordance with KRS 161.120(2) (a) and (b), the superintendent of each local school district shall report in writing to the Education Professional Standards Board the full facts and circumstances leading to contract termination or nonrenewal, resignation, or other absence, conviction, or otherwise reported actions or conduct of a certified employee, that may warrant action against the certificate under subsection (1) of this section, and shall forward copies of all relevant documents and records in his possession.  Any questions regarding the duty to report should be directed to Alicia Snead at Alicia.Sneed@ky.gov.

If you have not already done so, you still have an opportunity to request a supply of brochures containing the Certified School Personnel Professional Code of Ethics for distribution or training.  More than 60,000 brochures have been sent to school districts across Kentucky this summer.  Contact Carla Graham at Cgraham@ky.gov if you would like a supply of brochures.
