Survey reminder

Reminder about August survey on KSBA services

In late July, KSBA mailed to all 175 Kentucky superintendents a packet that included a survey tool for each board member and superintendent. Superintendents were asked to either a) distribute the surveys to board members and collect them at the August board meeting, or b) hand out the surveys to be completed at that meeting, and then return the completed surveys to KSBA.

Several districts have already returned their surveys and we want to thank those folks and just remind the others about the survey.

Specifically, this survey -- to be followed by others over the course of the year -- focuses on KSBA training opportunities for both board members and superintendents, and on our KSBA insurance services to boards and districts.

As technology changes, both in terms of what is available and what our members are comfortable using, KSBA wants to get input on what types of training over the Internet you would want us to explore. More generally, we want to know the kinds of issues you feel are most important for your association to have seminars.

On the insurance side, an astonishing number of board members are unaware that when they are considering vendors to provide insurance, that a proposal from the Kentucky School Board Insurance Trust is from their very own association -- owned and managed by their fellow board members. To reverse that situation, the survey seeks to find out what types of information and information-sharing processes you are most interested in about insurance issues and KSBA's own coverages, loss prevention services, rates, claims and/or financial data.

This is one way we are attempting to change to meet our members' needs and gain invaluable insight into how we are doing in serving you.
