Nominations open for 2007 KSBA Friend of Education, Dupree Outstanding Superintendent, Proudfoot Outstanding Board Member awards; Last '06 PEAK Award deadline Sept. 21

Nominations for the second and final 2006 KSBA PEAK Award must be received by next Thursday, Sept. 21.  The PEAK (Public Education Achieves in Kentucky) Award was created by the KSBA Board of Directors to recognize public school programs designed specifically to improve student achievement.  This will be the 24th PEAK Award, the honor roll of previous recipients including the following districts:

  • Barren County

  • Boone County

  • Boyd County

  • Bowling Green Independent

  • Campbell County

  • Daviess County (awards in 1998 and 2005)

  • Estill County

  • Grant County

  • Hardin County

  • Jefferson County

  • Johnson County

  • Kenton County

  • Lincoln County

  • Logan County

  • Marion County

  • Owensboro Independent

  • Pike County

  • Providence Independent

  • Pulaski County

  • Russell County

  • Simpson County

  • Union County

Meanwhile, the nomination process has just begun for the following awards to be presented at the 2007 KSBA Annual Conference:

  • Warren Proudfoot Outstanding School Board Member Award

  • F. L. Dupree Outstanding Superintendent Award

  • KSBA Friend of Education Awards (to an individual and a company or group)

The nomination deadline for all three awards this year is Nov. 15.  Nominations for the Dupree and Friend of Education Awards are sent to KSBA, while the Kentucky PTA receives nominations for its Proudfoot Award.
