Two
conferences to help schools, businesses meet energy needs

8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This conference will help
schools/school districts, businesses and
other organizations address concerns about rising utility costs. Some
topics include energy perspectives on a national and state level,
sustainability and "green building" design. University of Louisville
President Dr. James Ramsey is the keynote speaker. Other speakers
include Dr. Susan Cook (Northern Kentucky University), John Osborne
(Western Kentucky University), Danny Orlando (US EPA Region 4), John
Davies (Kentucky Division of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency) and more.
Cost to attend the Energy Awareness Conference is $25 (public sector)

This free half-day workshop, which is geared specifically toward educational
institutions, state and local governments, will focus on the purchasing
and use of environmentally preferable electronic equipment. Information
will be provided on current federal initiatives, such as the US
Environmental Protectioin Agency
Plug-In to eCycling, the federal Electronics Challenge and the
Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT). Attendees will
also learn about current trends and issues regarding electronic waste
and available end-of-life management options for existing equipment.
