Under Kentucky and federal law, school districts may qualify for Medicaid reimbursement as a funding source for special education services such as speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, mental health (counseling), nursing/health aides, audiology, interpreter services, the purchase of assistive technology devices, special transportation and orientation & mobility
KSBA has provided the Medicaid Billing Program to Kentucky school districts since legislation was passed in 1995. In 2009 we rolled out ezEdMed, the Web portal for special education and Medicaid billing. This portal allows for a secure connection so therapists can document all special educaiton services. If the child is Medicaid/KCHIP/Passport eligible, the system will bill Medicaid.
We’re committed to helping Kentucky school districts obtain Medicaid reimbursement dollars through the most efficient, cost-effective method. Like our other programs, this one is simple, hassle-free and economical.
