The KSBA Policy and Procedure Service is in its third decade serving Kentucky school boards and administrators.

Policy staff work with 172 board teams in maintaining/updating board policies and 123 superintendents in maintaining/updating administrative procedures developed with each district.

Currently,130 boards have subscribed to the online policy service, while 39 have joined the employee handbook service.

KSBA's Online service gives school boards instant computer access to minutes, laws, policies and other documents needed for meetings and staff are able to build the board meeting agenda online, saving time and materials.

Catalog of Services:

• Develop customized board policies and administrative procedures and assist districts in maintaining and updating them;

• Assist districts in getting policy and procedure information to stakeholders by compiling documents into an online manual, fully printable and searchable and linked to Kentucky statutes and administrative regulations;
• Design custom employee handbooks, based on board policies, to which additional information can be added locally. The handbooks are provided in hard copy and electronic format. Optional services include copying and a maintenance component;
• Policy Connection newsletter published quarterly (mailed or e-mailed) to address policy and procedure implementation issues;
• Regional update overviews, in conjunction with other KSBA staff, offering policy overviews at no charge;
• Staff piloted for seven districts an optional policy review component as part of the KSBA/Kentucky Center for School Safety school assessment process.
