The dates and the program are confirmed for this year’s KSBA Fall Regional Meetings that begin in mid-September and run through mid-November.

This year’s program will provide information on KSBA’s response to pending state regulations on new training for school board members. Staff will give superintendents and board members information on development of new workshops on district financial management, on changes in board evaluations of superintendents and on the new course on board member ethics.
Each meeting also is to feature a communication from Gov. Steve Beshear and/or First Lady Jane Beshear on districts’ actions on board policies to raise the high school dropout age starting in 2015.
Regional meetings are to begin with a social gathering around 5:30 p.m. local time, dinner at 6 p.m. and the program to follow. Elections for new regional chairpersons will take place in six regions, and more information will be sent out to members in those regions shortly. The next edition of Boardcast in early August will have the meeting location information from the host districts.
