Kentucky Chamber of Commerce seeks applicants for 2012 Leadership Institute for School Principals

Submission

The Kentucky Chamber Foundation is working to build strong schools to enhance the state’s economic prosperity. We believe that, just as a company president must be an effective leader to motivate employees, a principal bears similar responsibilities as the chief executive officer of a school building. This connection between business and education has prompted the Foundation to invest both time and resources into offering a first-class professional development experience for principals.

The Leadership Institute for School Principals will deliver executive-level leadership training from the internationally recognized Center of Creative Leadership at no cost to participants. The training costs, valued at $9,000 per person, will be covered by generous donations from businesses across Kentucky. Two- and three-day sessions, for a total of seven days over seven months held both at the CCL campus in Greensboro, N.C. and in Frankfort, Ky., will bring together Kentucky principals from diverse backgrounds, schools and school districts. Participants will be eligible for 21 hours of Effective Instructional Leadership credits.

Contributing businesses have designated which counties their donations will support, and only principals from those counties will be eligible for selection. Please visit http://www.principalsleadky.com/ for a complete list of the currently funded counties. If your county is not currently funded, and you have suggestions for businesses or organizations in your community that may be interested in supporting the program, please contact Kelly Wolf at [email protected] or 502-848-8725.

Please review the attached program details and submit your application by midnight, March 14. Applications must be completed online at http://www.principalsleadky.com/. If you have any questions, contact Allyson Hamilton-McIntire at [email protected] or 502-848-8734.

The Kentucky business community believes in our school leaders. We know that our state’s economic well-being is inextricably linked to the education and skills of the citizens.

Through the Leadership Institute for School Principals, we hope to do our part to help schools provide the finest education to Kentucky’s students.
