The state’s newly required process for Kentucky school boards to evaluate superintendent performance will be front and center at this year’s 12 KSBA Fall Regional Meetings.
By December, all 173 school boards must inform the Kentucky Department of Education of the process they plan to use in evaluating superintendent performance in the future. The agenda for the Regional Meetings calls for the evening program — usually starting after dinner, around 7 p.m. local time – to be devoted to the latest information on the state's requirements for boards in evaluating the job done by their superintendents.
Additionally, KSBA will be offering pre-Regional Meeting workshops — on an as needed, preregistration-required basis – in ethics and finance. These 75-minute classes would begin around 4:30 p.m., depending on sufficient registration requests and facility availability. Registrants would be able to choose one of the two topical sessions.
Registration information is being sent to all superintendents and board members.
