KDE bringing together district finance officers to discuss resource efficiency; five regional sessions starting Thursday through May 30

KDE receiveda $10,000 grant from the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices for training that focuses on efficiently reallocating state education resources to support increasing educational performance. The NGA Center will help states develop a plan for implementing recommendations on resource allocation and reallocation.


KDE’s focus will be to benchmark and track productivity improvements within school districts, identify best practices that reduce expenses, and communicate these best practices across the state for all districts to benefit. A series of five regional meetings for district finance officers will identify target areas for tracking.

The sessions are:

May 17               1 – 4 p.m. CT     Kentucky Dam Village State Park

May 18               10 a.m. – 2 p.m. CT         Dale Hollow Lake State Park

May 21               1 – 4 p.m. ET      Natural Bridge State Park

May 23               1 – 4 p.m. CT     Rough River State Park 

May 30               1 – 4 p.m. CT     Capital Plaza Tower, Frankfort
