6th annual KSBA federal and state law training event extended to second day

Due to requests from past attendees, KSBA has extended this year’s legal update conference to a day and a half. Don’t miss this vital update of legal information that will affect school district management next year. The event is May 10-11 at the Marriott Griffin Gate in Lexington.

This conference will tie together statutes, regulations, court cases, and board policies and procedures, as well as practical implementation tips and common pitfalls.

Topics include legislation adopted by the 2012 General Assembly; latest rulings under FERPA (Family Education Right to Privacy Act); federal and state regulations;volunteer issues; financial pitfalls; child abuse reporting, and student restraint and seclusion issues.

EILA credit and board member continuing education hours are approved for this conference. Registration is $250 for both days; $200 for May 11 only; and $100 for May 10 only.
