Center for School Safety research survey on parent aggression towards educators active through this Friday

The Kentucky Center for School Safety is conducting an exploratory analysis focusing on parental aggression towardeducators.

Through this study, the Center hopes to learn more about the behaviors educators believe constitute parental aggression, the forms of parental aggression, the frequency and extent of these behaviors, the common issues around which such behavior occurs, current responses to the behavior, and possible recommendations for dealing with aggressive parents.

The agency also will use results of the study for a comparative analysis with data collected as part of the parental aggression study conducted in 2005.  All of the information will be used to produce a report containing results of the study and suggestions on how to provide safe and secure working environments in Kentucky schools.

If you choose to participate in this study, you will simply complete an online survey.  The survey is completely anonymous and should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.  If you are not currently employed in the public education system in the state of Kentucky, you should not participate in this study.

If you have questions about the study itself or if you have problems accessing the survey, please contact Dr. Kristie R. Blevins at [email protected] or by phone at (859) 622-6869.  If you have any questions about your rights as a research volunteer, contact the staff in the Division of Sponsored Programs at Eastern Kentucky University at 859-622-3636.
