This month’s regional trainings for board members in ethics, finance and superintendent evaluations

KSBA will continue its yearlong training for board members in the three state-mandated subject areas this month with four workshops, hosted by regional educational cooperatives.

Each workshop will offer seminars specifically designed to meet the requirements for annual professional development in the areas of board member ethics, school finance and annual evaluations of the superintendent. Sessions will count towards board members’ annual training requirements and also are approved for superintendents for EILA credit hours.

The sessions this month are:

      · Tuesday, April 7, in Hazard. Topics: Setting tax rates, superintendent evaluations and social media ethics.

      · Saturday, April 18, in Lexington and in Ashland. Topics: Two seminars on finance, setting tax rates, superintendent evaluations and social media ethics. (There is a meal break – on your own - between the two finance sessions and the other three clinics.)

      · Thursday, April 23, in Eddyville. Topics: Setting tax rates, superintendent evaluations and social media ethics.

The fee is $40 per individual clinic. Online registration for all four seminars is available on the KSBA website www.ksba.org on the Events section of the home page.
