2016 KSBA Awards Nominations (Dupree, Proudfoot & Friend of Education)

KSBA is pleased to invite nominations of outstanding education leaders and advocates for recognition during the association’s 80th annual conference, Feb. 26-28, 2016 in Louisville.

This is a unique opportunity to place a major supporter of Kentucky schools in the public spotlight in front of as many as 1,000 education leaders from across the Commonwealth.

At the bottom of this page, please find attached the pdf documents for the following awards:

KSBA Friend of Education Award

This will mark the 27th presentation of the KSBA Friend of Education Award. One award will be presented to an individual, an organization, a business or a corporation in recognition of support for public education in your home community as well as across the state. Board members and superintendents may not be nominated for this recognition. Nominations may come from any district that has not had a nominee selected for the award in 10 years. This selection will be made by the KSBA Board of Directors.

Warren Proudfoot Outstanding School Board Member Award

This tribute is co-sponsored by the Kentucky PTA and KSBA. Nomination eligibility is open to any current board member who has at least five years’ service and will be serving at the time of the award presentation. This marks the 25th award presented in memory of the late Dr. Proudfoot, a former KSBA president and Rowan County school board member. Nominations for this award go to the Kentucky PTA and the selection is made by that organization’s board of directors.

F. L. Dupree Outstanding Superintendent Award

KSBA and the family of the late F.L. Dupree, a local school board member and public education advocate, jointly present this honor. To be eligible, a superintendent must have held the current position since July 1, 2011, and be serving in the post at the time of the award presentation. Nominations are screened by one panel of Dupree past recipients, and then a final selection is made by a different panel of Dupree honorees.

The nomination deadline for the Warren Proudfoot Outstanding School Board Member award is Nov. 1. The nomination deadline for the KSBA Friend of Education and F. L. Dupree Outstanding Superintendent awards is Nov. 15.
