Five local board of education members have tossed their hats into the ring to seek director-at-large seats on their association’s 27-member board of directors.

Under KSBA bylaws, the committee’s recommendations of a slate of four candidates will be presented to the full membership for ratification during the Saturday business meeting at next February’s 80th KSBA Annual Conference.

The KSBA Board of Directors consists of 12 directors-at-large, a regional chairperson for each of the association’s 12 regions, Kennedy and President elect David Webster of Simpson County.

The full KSBA board also will have its quarterly meeting in Louisville Friday. At the meeting, the board will adopt the association's list of legislative priorities for the 2016 General Assembly.
