Do you know how to address disability-related personnel issues and public-access issues such as use of service animals?

This unique three-day event provides a rare opportunity for detailed instruction about Section 504 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.

GET YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED!

Learn information that all Section 504 and ADA coordinators, new and experienced, need to know. Hear about current court cases and hot-topic issues being pursued in court by the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Office of Civil Rights, and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

We will cover school district responsibilities for accommodating students, staff and the public under Section 504 and the ADA.

Day 1
Registration: 12:30 p.m.
Session: 1 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.

We will present an overview of Section 504/ADA Coordinator responsibilities to staff, students, and the public.

The focus will be on program access and the situations in which school districts must address facilities access.

Day 2
Registration: 8 a.m.
Session: 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

This day is crucial for ADA/504 coordinators. Discussion will include ADA obligations to personnel and to the public, including service dogs/miniature horses, and what constitutes a reasonable staff accommodation.

We will look at cases filed against employers by the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. EEOC.

Day 3
Registration: 8 a.m.
Session: 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

This training is designed to assist 504 chairs and other administrators in handling student issues. It will include a U.S. Office of Civil Rights and case law update.

We will work through a number of scenarios, applying the law to each situation.
