KSBA Board of Directors welcomes new members; reminder of Nov. 14 deadline to self-nominate for director-at-large slots

As this year’s KSBA regional meetings are wrapping up, seats are being filled for the six regional chairperson slots up for election in 2014.

So far, joining the KSBA board are the following new regional chairpersons:

      · Karen Byrd from the Boone County Board of Education is the new Northern Kentucky regional chairperson.

      · Pat Hall from the Campbellsville Independent Board of Education is the new Middle Cumberland regional chairperson.

Two current members of the KSBA board, who were filling unexpired terms, have been elected to full three-year terms as regional chairs. They are:

      · Barry Cornelius of the Christian County Board of Education in the Second Region.

      · Susan Cable of Wolfe County in the Eastern Kentucky South Region.

Two more elections are on tap in the Fourth and Upper Cumberland regions, and will be reported in a future edition of Boardcast.

Directors-at-large

Meanwhile, all local board members are reminded of the Nov. 14 deadline for self-nominations to fill one of four, three-year director-at-large posts on the KSBA board. Candidates will be considered by a nominating committee appointed by KSBA President Durward Narramore, and the full association membership will ratify the committee’s actions during the annual business session next February in Louisville.

Nominees must be eligible to serve at the time of placing their name up for consideration, and must not have a fellow member of their local board currently serving on the KSBA board.
