Submission

The National School Boards Association, the National Association of Secondary School Principals and other education organizations are encouraging school districts to consider nominating middle and/or high school students for recognition of their volunteer work as part of the Prudential Financial Spirit of Community Awards program.

The 20th annual program begins at the school level where students complete online applications and submit them to their principals. The top applicant at each participating middle and high school receives the President’s Volunteer Award, and moves on to be considered by a state-level judging panel. State honorees receive $1,000 awards, engraved silver medallions and an all-expenses paid trip with one parent to the national selection ceremonies in Washington, D.C. National honorees receive $5,000 plus a $5,000 donation to the charity of their choice.

Information has been sent to all middle and high school principals and is available online, along with more information, here http://spirit.prudential.com/view/page/soc/301.
