A team approach to school communications: the 2013 annual professional development conference of the Kentucky School Public Relations Association

Mark your calendar and plan to join school communications professionals from across the state in Bowling Green Nov. 7-8 for this year’s training event by the Kentucky School Public Relations Association (KYSPRA).

This year’s training will focus on the role of school communications as part of a district team and the community at large. Sessions are intended for those with communications roles and responsibilities, whether as a full-time role or as one of many job duties.

The conference will begin at 10 a.m. Nov. 7 and will feature topics such as developing a district media plan, social media for administrators, public relations for beginners, working with local news media, and sharing stories through photography and video.

On Nov. 8, sessions will begin at 8 a.m. with topics on partnering with law enforcement and first responders, legal issues in school public relations, and a superintendents’ panel on communication.

The conference will conclude on Nov. 8 with the annual KSBA OASIS (Outstanding Achievement in School Information Services) Awards Banquet beginning at noon.

KYSPRA members may register for both days at $180, and non-members may attend at $215. Other registration options are also available. To register, click here  http://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/event?oeidk=a07e7rzao6c31ce71dc&llr=q6zjvlfab.
