Hot off a successful Summer Leadership Institute that drew 250-plus board members and superintendents to Lexington, KSBA staff are working on the program for the next opportunity for district leaders to get training hours – the Winter Symposium, which is slated for Dec. 6-7 at the new Marriott East Hotel in Louisville.
One major addition to the Winter Symposium is the school systems’ Share Your Success exhibits, moved from their traditional place at the KSBA Annual Conference.
“There are so many activities going on that compete for participants’ attention during our annual conference that we wanted to give our district showcase a different venue to display and explain their innovations,” said Kerri Shelling, KSBA’s director of Board Team Development. “The Winter Symposium is smaller, more intimate and should give attendees more time to engage district staff and students about the district exhibits.”
It is anticipated there will be space for up to 20 district displays, which will be allotted on a first-applied, first-accepted basis. Please see the attached application form and set of guidelines below. Hard copies of both will be mailed to districts shortly.
