2013 KSBA Annual Conference - "Kentucky Public Schools: Taking the Next Step"

It's nearly time for KSBA's 77th Annual Conference. Get ready to network with colleagues from across the state and participate in informative workshops and general sessions designed to enhance school board service.

Take the next step in your professional development and see what KSBA has planned for this year's event:

  • 42 clinics on a wide range of education leadership and academic programs for board members, superintendents and others at the school and district levels. Among the topics are closing achievement gaps, tobacco control policies, the 2013 General Assembly, the new teacher and principal evaluation processes, youth sleep patterns and their impact on learning, KHSAA, an update on the Districts of Innovation regulation, kindergarten readiness, district financial issues and a conversation with State Auditor Adam Edelen on school board oversight.

  • Five pre-conference sessions allowing more intense training in areas ranging from effective school boards, bullying and risk management to media interviews and health care reform’s effect on schools.

  • Four general sessions featuring keynote speakers and/or special recognitions, including presentation of the Proudfoot Outstanding School Board Member and Dupree Outstanding Superintendent awards.

All sessions are open to all board members, regardless of experience, and qualify for Academy of Studies general elective credit unless otherwise noted.

Registrants should pre-register for each workshop they plan to attend, as this helps ensure workshops are assigned to rooms of sufficient size to accommodate interest. Please note that conference workshops are available on a first come, first served basis and pre-registration is not a guarantee that a seat will be available. (Pre-conference sessions are guaranteed with advance registration.)
