Kentucky presentation proposals sought now for annual energy efficient schools conference next March

Submission

The Kentucky NEED (National Energy Education Development) Project and the Kentucky Department for Energy Development and Independence are seeking proposals for School Buildings Workshop. They seek dynamic presentations that inform about proven practices, push the leading edge of the profession, and motivate the pursuit of performance sustainable school design and renovation.

Session Topics: The committee will look for presentations in areas such as these:

Examples and case studies of affordable, sustainable school buildings

Best Practices to help a district achieve a high performance school

New technologies supporting an energy efficient sustainable building

Professional standards such as LEED, Green Ribbon Schools or Energy Star that may be used to document high performance

Affordable costs and how to achieve a sustainable building project

Gaining District support for a high performance, sustainable design or renovation

Outcomes: Attendees should be

1. Inspired to implement high performance their existing buildings.

2. Confident in new techniques that elevate high performance in their building design, construction and operations.

3. Supportive of the ideal that high performance is a process that be continues over the life of the building.

4. Shown that their investment in high performance process is of value

One complimentary workshop registration will be given to one presenter per session. All additional presenters with that session must register for the conference.
