Center for Digital Education issues digital district survey
Submission

The Center for Digital Education, the National School Boards Association and Converge Online are launching the nation’s eighth annual Digital School Districts Survey. The purpose of the survey is to showcase exemplary school boards and districts’ use of technology to govern the district; to communicate with students, parents and the community; and to improve district operations.

Top-ranked school districts will receive awards and will be featured on the Center’s website and in Converge Online. Survey results will be compiled and sent to participants. Responses will be used for reports, research, trend identification, and analysis.

The Center is a national research and advisory institute specializing in K-12 and higher education technology trends, policy and funding. It supports the Converge media platform composed of Converge Special Reports and Converge Online. The Center is a division of eRepublic, a national publishing, event and research company focused on smart media for public sector innovation.

All U.S. public school boards/districts are invited to participate in this survey. District survey responses are classified as follows:
  • Small school districts - fewer than 3,000 students
  • Mid-sized school districts - between 3,000 and 12,000 students
  • Large school districts - 12,000 students or more

A ranking will be established in each classification. Ranked districts among the top 10 in each grouping are those with the fullest implementation of technology benchmarks in the evolution of digital education, as represented in the survey questions. Districts will be recognized during the NSBA annual conference in Boston, April 21-23.

For credit, responses should reflect applications and systems that are in production and fully operational, unless future plans are requested in the question. Credit may not be granted if requested information (such as specific URLs or descriptions) is not provided. Please note that survey responses will be verified and validated.

The deadline to submit survey responses online is Tuesday, Jan. 31.

NOTE:Once you have submitted your entry you will need to contact Janet Grenslitt if it is necessary to edit your responses. A copy of your submission will be available on request after the survey and awards process is complete.

For assistance, contact Janet Grenslitt, surveys and awards director at [email protected], or 916-932-1363.
