Senate, House leaders to talk about 2014 legislative session during KSBA Winter Symposium next week in Louisville

Leaders of both chambers of the Kentucky General Assembly will share their outlooks on the 2014 legislative session during a Saturday morning session of next week’s KSBA Winter Symposium at the new Marriott Louisville East.

Sen. David Givens (R-Greensburg,pictured at left), vice-chairman of the Senate Appropriations and Revenue Committee and a member of the Education Committee, will join Speaker of the House Greg Stumbo (D-Prestonsburg) to address school board members, superintendents and other conference attendees at 8:15 a.m. Saturday.

As of Tuesday, Nov. 26, almost 200 have registered for the final opportunity for local board members to earn training that qualifies to meet state-mandated professional development hours.

Twenty-four clinics are on the agenda, allowing board members to earn as many as 8 credit hours for the workshops that begin Friday at 8:30 a.m.
