Last opportunity to nominate district initiative for NSBA 2014 Magna Awards; deadline to complete paperwork Oct. 31

From NSBA

Between now and Oct. 31, your district can apply for the 2014 Magna Awards, American School Board Journal's annual program that honors best practices in school districts.

Co-sponsored by NSBA and Sodexo School Services, the Magna Awards recognize programs that showcase district leadership, creativity, innovation and commitment to student achievement. Nominations are judged in one of three enrollment categories: less than 5,000 students; 5,000-20,000 students; and more than 20,000 students. One grand prize winner is selected in each category and receives a $4,000 contribution from Sodexo. Five additional winners and five honorable mention recipients also are selected from each enrollment category.

Only nominations submitted online  http://www.asbj.com/MainMenuCategory/Supplements/MagnaAwards/MagnaNominations will be accepted. To be eligible, your school district must be in the U.S. or the U.S. Virgin Islands and be a member of your state school boards association.
