NSBA Advocacy Institute will put you in the halls of Congress and the offices of the Kentucky Congressional delegation

If you want to influence Congressional decisions about public education and elevate your advocacy skills to a new level, the National School Boards Association’s new Advocacy Institute is right up your alley.

NSBA has revved up its efforts to be the leading advocate on Capitol Hill for public education and local school board governance. The Advocacy Institute, Feb. 2-4, will not only give you the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C., to meet with Kentucky’s national delegation, but it will equip you with the necessary tools to influence action in the nation’s capital and in Frankfort.

You’ll learn how to be a strategic, year-round advocate and how to organize local efforts in your community around a common goal. You’ll also get tips on working with the media.

The conference keynote speakers will inspire your advocacy efforts with state and federal legislators. Rev. Bernice King, inspirational speaker, author and daughter of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., is guaranteed to inspire you to action. Bob Woodward, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, author and associate editor of The Washington Post, will give you the inside scoop on how Washington works.

KSBA would like Kentucky to be well-represented at this conference, and we hope you will be able to join us for this exciting event. Included below is more information, but if you have other questions, please contact Shannon Stiglitz by e-mail at shannon.stiglitz@ksba.org or by phone at 502.783.0061.
