KSBA’s popular annual Special Education Director/Special Education Law Update conference will be held on Aug. 27-29 at the Marriott Griffin Gate Resort in Lexington. This conference presents the latest legal implications and practical guidance to special education directors and others responsible for compliance with special education requirements in school districts.

Topics include basics such as budgeting, staffing, legal requirements, restrictions on use of IDEA funds, health services, relevant board policies, and practical tips about preparing for and surviving a due process hearing. There also will be an update on KDE activity, and the latest in court decisions, U.S. Department of Education Office of Special Education Programs and Office of Civil Rights opinions.
