Conference registration remains open online at the KSBA website www.ksba.org (Events section), as well as for the concurrent Council of School Board Attorneys and Kentucky Organization of Superintendents Administrative Assistants’ summer conferences.

Here is a look at some of the Louisville events on tap that weekend:

Fifth Third Bank Curious Kids Days at Fourth Street Live! – Saturday (opens at 11 a.m.) - Calling all kids! This month's theme is "Curious About The Arts." Enjoy music and karaoke by Just Julie and Just Jack, get a star-studded face painting, receive mini-acting instruction, get your picture taken in the photo booth for your "publicity shots" then make a "You Are A Star" picture frame for those pictures, learn to stilt walk and juggle, plus enjoy three big bouncies.

10th annual Forecastle Festival – Louisville Waterfront Park The three-day event will feature My Morning Jacket, Bassnectar and Wilco. My Morning Jacket is collaborating with the producers on the sights, sounds and experiences of the entire festival weekend. Additional acts include Andrew Bird, Girl Talk, Atmosphere, Neko Case, Sleigh Bells, A-Trak, Clutch, Flying Lotus, Galactic, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Dean Wareham Plays Galaxie 500, and many others.

Annie – Derby Dinner Playhouse (Clarksville, Ind. Friday and Saturday) Leapin’ Lizards! America’s comic strip sweetheart takes center stage in one of the world’s best-loved musicals. This rags-to-riches classic comes alive with rambunctious orphans, comic villains, and of course the lovable dog Sandy. A delightful family favorite! Ticket price includes dinner, show, tax, & parking.

Louisville Bats Triple AAA baseball (Friday and Saturday) Friday night fireworks show begins right after the game. Games both nights against Gwinett (Ga.) Braves.

Ballparks: From Classic Cathedrals to Concrete Donuts – Louisville Slugger Factory and Museum – This special exhibition teams stunning stadium photography with rare and raucous artifacts from the ballparks themselves and the players who made history there.

Samurai Exhibit at Frazier History Museum – Samurai were as artistic and philosophical as they were dangerous. The epic tale of the one of the greatest warrior cultures in history, and how it shaped an entire nation, is the theme of an extraordinary new exhibition at the Frazier History Museum. The beauty, artistry and richness of this ancient culture are explored through "Samurai," a 3,800-square-foot exhibition that immerses visitors in the mysterious, and often misunderstood, world of this vanished Japanese noble class.
