Researchers exploring the role of local school boards and governance factors that positively impact student achievement have extended their online survey and requests for participation through June 15.
Preliminary research with educationally high-performing countries is very clear: There are substantive gains in student achievement when decisions about public education are made closer to the local level of governance.
If you are willing to take the survey, just click on the link below, read and complete the survey, then click the button at the end to submit your answers. A code number will be assigned to your submission, which will keep your responses linked to your city, district, and state but it will not be linked to you as an individual and the information will not be disaggregated at any level other than state and nation. Your participation is completely anonymous.

The researchers are hoping to have 50 percent of the board members in every state participate, so your participation is very important. Contact names and information are provided in the introduction to the survey if you have any questions.
