KSBA Winter Symposium lodging deadline is Nov. 25; last chance for board members to earn needed 2012 hours

Superintendents, school board members and the newly-elected local leaders who will take office in January are registering for the annual KSBA Winter Symposium. It’s the last opportunity for board members who need approved training hours to meet state law. And the session counts for those soon-to-be board members in meeting their first-year credit hours in 2013.

More than 100 have already registered for the sessions, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at the Marriott Griffin Gate in Lexington. Online registration is now available on the KSBA website here  http://portal.ksba.org/Public/Event/Event.aspx?EventID=5tBnLpFgCfM=.  Registration is $195 per person plus $15 for the Friday luncheon.  A Friday evening reception and Saturday breakfast are included.

For those needing overnight accommodations Thursday and/or Friday nights, the deadline for reservations is Sunday, Nov. 25. Please mention KSBA to receive the conference rate.  You must make your reservations by calling the Marriott  at 877-901-6632 or go to  https://resweb.passkey.com/go/KSBA2012WinterSymposium to reserve a room online.

Seminars confirmed for this year’s  Winter Symposium range from school board fiscal oversight responsibilities to research on charter schools in other states.  Visit the conference registration page link above for a look at the full agenda of workshops and speakers.
