The Kentucky Nurses Association (KNA) has stepped up for the state's public schools in a big way to help with implementation of SB 33, which was passed by the 2016 General Assembly.
The new law requires public high schools to provide CPR training while students are enrolled in a health, physical education, or Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps course that meets the physical education graduation requirement.
As a gesture of support for public schools and their efforts to improve the safety and health of children and adults, KNA has committed to providing every school district with a CPR training manikin, free of charge. The organization has begun placing orders for the devices and plans distribution over the summer.
