Put away the paper and No. 2 pencils and get ready to have teams of communications pros examine your districts' efforts to keep the community plugged in.

The 19th annual OASIS (Outstanding Achievement in School Information Services) Professional Development Program, co-sponsored by KSBA and the Kentucky School Public Relations Association (KYSPRA) has gone completely online – no binders to complete and mail – everything is submitted via email or links to items accessible via your district websites.

All entries will be submitted via email to [email protected], and will be judged online by panels of professionals in school and/or government communications who understand about budgets, public engagement and producing quality work.

This year's entry fee has been dropped to $45 per submission. Results will be announced during the OASIS luncheon at the KYSPRA annual conference this fall. (Date to be set soon.). The entry deadline is 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3.

For the seventh consecutive year, the KSBA OASIS Sweepstakes Awards will honor four districts (based on enrollment) for overall communications programs. Eligible districts must submit at least one entry in three of the five general classifications: print communications, written communications, photography/videography, electronic communications and campaigns/programs. All entries submitted by the district make up the total entry, with the highest average being chosen as the Sweepstakes-honored district. After announcement at the OASIS ceremony, a KSBA representative will travel to the school board meeting of each of four of the Sweepstakes-honored districts for a special presentation.

Entries are to have been completed between July 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015.

OASIS is open to KYSPRA members or other staff of any public school district with a KYSPRA member. Please confirm your KYSPRA membership status to be eligible to have an entry considered.
