Application process open for fifth annual KSBA First Degree College Scholarship; students eligible in immediate families with no postsecondary degrees
Application process open for fifth annual KSBA First Degree College Scholarship; students eligible in immediate families with no postsecondary degrees

For the fifth consecutive year, the KSBA Board of Directors will award two $2,500 scholarships for eligible Kentucky public high school seniors to attend any two- or four-year accredited college or university. These nonrenewable scholarships for one male and one female member of the Class of 2016 will be paid directly to the college or university upon the recipient’s official admission acceptance.

Any Kentucky public school district may place in nomination the names of up to two students (one male and one female). KSBA will accept receipt of the first two eligible application forms per district (additional applications will be disqualified).

Eligible students are those who would be the first members of their immediate family (parents, guardians, siblings) to complete degree requirements from an institution of higher education and have earned an ACT reading score of at least 20 as a junior or senior. Applicants are to use the attached form, which must be signed by the high school guidance counselor, the superintendent and the school board chairman.

The deadline to submit an application to KSBA is close of business Friday, Nov. 13.

The scholarships will be awarded based on a drawing conducted by the KSBA Board of Directors in December.

For more information, contact KSBA Executive Director Mike Armstrong [email protected] or Kathy Amburgey [email protected] or call 800-372-2962.
