State-mandated board member training sessions for 2015 coming up: Ashland, Bowling Green workshops this weekend

Do you still need board member training credit hours in 2015? You may want to consider attending one of the upcoming sessions hosted by your regional educational cooperative.

KSBA has again partnered with the regional co-ops to offer board member training sessions in the areas of superintendent evaluation, finance and ethics. The dates and locations for these sessions are listed below. Please complete registration for the Aug. 22 sessions at GRREC and KEDC-Ashland by Aug. 19 to ensure participation.

The format for each day of training will consist of three to five 60-minute workshops on the topics of superintendent evaluation, finance and ethics. There will be a $40 fee for each session a participant attends to offset the cost of the trainers, travel expenses, materials and handouts. However, there is no fee to participate in the superintendent evaluation training, thanks to a partnership with the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence and funding through the Gates Foundation. Participants will have the option of attending all sessions or only the session(s) they need.
