Please share why you decided to run for your local school board.
Our school system is the heart of our community, and I felt compelled to help make positive changes for the district. As a parent of three children, I understand the critical role that education plays in their lives and in the lives of all students in our district. My goal is to empower our students to dream big and provide them with the opportunities to reach their full potential. I want all students to graduate equipped with all the tools necessary to lead successful lives.
What is your favorite thing about serving on your local board?
Nothing brings me more joy than seeing our students excel in academics, athletics and extracurricular activities. When we provide opportunities for our students to grow and become better individuals, we make a positive impact that can reap dividends for generations to come.
What activities do you enjoy doing outside your board work?
In my spare time, I love traveling and spending time with my family. I enjoy hunting, fishing, golf and any activity that allows me to be out in nature.
Name someone in your life you admire, or who inspired or helped you along the way.
My parents had a positive impact on my life and taught me that actions speak louder than words and to treat others as you want to be treated. I strive to bring these characteristics to all my pursuits, particularly when serving on the school board. Having integrity and being kind to all people are values we should instill in all our children.
Please share something about yourself that most people may not know.
I have a strong passion for endurance activities. I have completed three marathons, cycled several century rides and participated in numerous triathlons. I enjoy setting seemingly impossible goals and working diligently to achieve them.
