Districts interested in ASAP for School Boards recognition at KSBA annual conference need to complete paperwork by Jan. 15

As part of KSBA’s efforts to support public school districts in leading student achievement, the association once again will recognize board governance teams (board members and superintendents) for their focus on preparing college and career ready students through improved student achievement. The recognition, through the Advancing Student Achievement through Proficiency program, will take place during the association’s Annual Conference, Feb. 22-24 in Louisville.

KSBA is requesting that each board team check (ü) those statements in the attached survey document that represent actions it has taken during the past year and return this survey, along with materials designated, to KSBA, 260 Democrat Drive, Frankfort, KY 40601 or fax to (502)783-1443, no later than Jan. 15. After that date, it may not be possible to list your district in the conference program.

Those teams marking any of the 10 standards will be recognized at the conference.

If you have questions about this survey, please call Dara Bass at 1-800-372-2962, ext. 1220.

The is the last year that the current ASAP initiative will be used as it is scheduled to be reviewed and possibly redesigned to more closely reflect the new Unbridled Learning assessment and accountability system. If you have comments or suggestions to share concerning this recognition effort, please let us know. Sincere thanks to the many districts that have participated in this program since its inception in 1999.
