High interest leads to space expansion for next week's KSBA annual school law seminars

Registration has passed the 125 participant point, leading KSBA to obtain additional space for the May 13 Legal Update Conference at the Marriott Griffin Gate Resort and Conference Center in Lexington.

Additionally, the reduced rate lodging has been extended through May 10, at $139 per night. Participants are urged to contact the hotel at 1-800-228-9290 to confirm lodging needs.

This is an opportunity for school leaders to preview the new requirements of federal and state law that must be implemented in school districts next year. The training will assist school districts with their summer policy and program development.

Topics include an update on the new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), access for the community regulations, and ADA personnel regulations; cyberbullying; new Genetic Information Non-Discrimination Act regulations; new case law developments; the 2011 Kentucky legislative session; local board policy preview; and discussion of practical implications of the information presented.
