Board members, superintendents needed for Kids First Advocacy Conference in Frankfort Feb. 22-23

KSBA will again bring together local school leaders with leaders of the General Assembly at the evening opening reception for the Kids First Advocacy Conference, Wednesday, Feb 22 at Frankfort’s Capitol Plaza Hotel. The event also will feature presentation of the KSBA Kids First Advocacy Awards for a state senator and state representative.

The Kids First conference is an excellent opportunity for you to have one-on-one conversations with your legislators.  On Feb. 23, participants will have a breakfast and training at the hotel, followed by a trip to the Capitol for legislative committee meetings and a chance to speak directly to your own senator and representative.

Registration is $100 per person and participants may earn EILA credit and school board training hours.  If you are interested in attending please click here http://ksba.org/Downloads/Advocacy%20Registration%202012%20_2_2.pdf or contact Jhan Wilson [email protected] to register.

We need a large attendance to show the legislators support for our issues, especially the budget. If you have any questions, please call the KSBA Governmental Relations staff at 800-372-2962 or see Shannon Pratt Stiglitz or David Baird at the KSBA annual conference.
