House and Senate education panel leaders to address KSBA Kids First Advocacy Day meeting Feb. 12 in Frankfort

bbbTwo of the most powerful members of the Kentucky General Assembly when it comes to K-12 legislation will offer their insights to participants in next week’s KSBA Kids First Advocacy Day in Frankfort.

House Education Committee Chairman Derrick Graham (D-Frankfort) and Senate Education Committee Chairman Mike Wilson (R-Bowling Green) have accepted invitations to speak at the morning information and training segment of the Feb. 12 event.

Registration continues through Thursday, Feb. 5 online here . No cancellations are permitted after that date, although substitutes may be made. Registration is $50 per person and includes breakfast.

Please note the morning sessions begin at the Capital Plaza Hotel at 405 Wilkinson Boulevard before shifting to the Capitol and Capitol Annex.

The event agenda is as follows (all times Eastern):

7:30 a.m. Welcome and Breakfast

8 – 8:40 a.m. Lobbying and Messaging tips by KSBA Government Relations Director Hope McLaughlin

8:45 – 9:30 a.m. Chairmen Graham and Wilson

                                           10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Participants meet with their legislators (to be scheduled in advance with your legislators’ offices. (Lunch is on your own at the time of your choosing.

11:30 a.m. Senate Education Committee meets in Annex Room 171

2 p.m. House and Senate convene (gallery passes available)
