State board to discuss teacher/principal training, development of educators’ assessment system, Commissioner Holliday’s contract Wednesday

The Kentucky Board of Education’s June 6 meeting will involve reports and updates on teacher and principal training and evaluations currently in the planning process.

Other subjects on the KBE’s Wednesday agenda include:

* A report on bullying prevention support services to districts by KDE and the Kentucky Center for School Safety

* A discussion on a draft regulation to establish state rules on school use of restraint and seclusion of students as disciplinary measures

* A regulation to implement a law passed by the 2012 General Assembly on alternative high school graduation requirements for students with disabilities.

* A hearing on an appeal of the commissioner’s ruling in a nonresident contract dispute between Corbin Independent and Knox County school systems
