Kentucky State Parks inviting students to a different kind of field trip to see bald eagles living and thriving in our state

Submission

The Kentucky State Parks are offering a unique field trip experience for students interested in wildlife and the environment.

Students can take a cruise aboard the CQ Princess to observe bald eagles along Kentucky Lake on Jan. 29. The temperature-controlled yacht will depart from the marina at Kenlake State Resort Park at Aurora for a two-hour cruise.

While on board, students will view eagles and other wildlife. The program, which aligns with Kentucky academic standards, will be led by Kentucky State Park and Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources staff members.

Two trips are scheduled. The 9:30 a.m. cruise is for public and private school students. The 1 p.m. cruise is for home-schooled students.

The fee is $15 per student and the registration deadline is Jan. 20. To register, contact Lisa Deavers at (502) 564-8110, ext. 246 or email [email protected]. Lunch may be scheduled at the Kenlake lodge for your class following or prior to your trip (contact Tammy Nanney at (270) 474-2211.)
