KSBA First Degree College Scholarship Program
For the fourth consecutive year, the Kentucky School Boards Association will provide $2,500 college scholarships to one male and to one female member of the Class of 2015.  

The scholarship is good to any two-year, four-year college or university, in state or out. This is a one-year, nonrenewable scholarship.

Nominations of one male and/or one female student per public school district, selected by the school board.

Nominees must be:

1) A high school senior intending to go to college;

2) From an immediate family (parents, guardians, siblings) who has not earned a college degree;

3) Have obtained an ACT reading score of at least 20 as a junior or senior.

The one-page application with ACT reading score, age, address and verification that there is no college graduate among immediate family must be signed by 1) the student's high school guidance counselor, 2) the local board of educaiton chairman and 3) the district superintendent.

KSBA will pay the scholarship directly to students’ colleges of enrollment upon receipt of letter of acceptance, received to KSBA by June 1, 2015.

Applications must be received at KSBA offices, 260 Democrat Drive, Frankfort, KY 40601 by Nov. 14, 2014.

Two completed and eligible applications will be drawn at the KSBA Board of Directors meeting in December.  

Selectees will be announced at the KSBA Annual Conference in Louisville on Feb. 18, 2015.
