Bath Co. board gives superintendent exemplary marks on his annual evaluation, citing support for the district, leadership of staff, and school/community relations

Superintendent receives high marks in annual evaluation

Bath County Board of Education members gave Superintendent Harvey Tackett a strongly positive annual evaluation of his job performance during a special called meeting last Wednesday morning.
Board members went into executive session to have preliminary discussion of Tackett’s evaluation and returned to open session forty-five minutes later to adopt a summative evaluation that they described as “Exemplary.”
Board chair Barbara Razor read the following statement:
“Mr. Tackett has ensured the success of our district by supporting and valuing the history, goals, and traditions of our district. He has proven to be a leader by promoting a professional learning community with processes in place to recruit and retain a highly effective staff. He has built a strong relationship with the community by becoming an active and involved participant in the local clubs and organizations. Mr. Tackett has worked diligently to ensure the success of Bath County Schools.”
Razor said that their evaluation was based on the standards of cultural leadership and managerial leadership, two of the eight standards on which on all Kentucky superintendents are to be annually evaluated by state law.
Board members Razor, Hurschell Rawlings, Eric Conkwright, and Brenda Holder all signed off on the evaluation before adjourning the meeting.
Board member Kristy Shaw and Supt. Tackett were not present for the meeting.
